Ofsted Report

“Children are happy and settled at the pre-school……children are fully engaged in activities and are seen laughing and smiling as they have an enjoyable time” Ofsted, January 2012

The Early Years Entitlement

The Early Years Entitlement is a part-time place for each eligible child. Somerset County Council will fund part-time Early Years Entitlement places for three and four year olds spread across the academic year starting from the funding period after the child’s third birthday.

Early Years Foundation Stage

We follow the The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which is the statutory framework that sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children are ready for school and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.

There is more information available on the EYFS available on the Department of Education’s website:
