Vision Statement
Our aim is to be a fair and harmonious school and community, where every one of us aims to achieve our highest standard in attainment, behaviour, self-esteem and our understanding of the world.
At Countess Gytha Primary School we understand that wellbeing is more than just the feeling of physical wellness - it is significantly impacted by our mental health, too! The Department of Health and Social Care (2013) defined wellbeing as 'a positive state of mind and body, underpinned by social and psychological wellbeing'.
All those at Countess Gytha Primary School have a shared commitment to nurturing and inspiring the positive development of children's holistic wellbeing. We strive to support and teach children how to champion for their own mental health and wellbeing and advocate for that of others, too; together we are working towards prioritising healthy minds as well as healthy bodies.
Wellbeing coordinators
As part of our commitment to promoting the mental health and wellbeing of all those that are part of Countess Gytha Primary School, we have developed a Wellbeing Action Group (WAG) to oversee continued developments in our practice and approaches towards our vision, aims and commitments.
Our Senior Mental Health Lead is Miss Hannah Morris.
Wellbeing Champions
Congratulations to our chosen pupils in years 4 & 5 who have been assigned the role of 'Wellbeing Champion' to support the whole school approach and commitment to wellbeing.
Hello Yellow Day 2024
On Thursday 10th October, Countess Gytha marked World Mental Health Day by joining in with the Hello Yellow campaign. Pupils wore their brightest yellow clothing and enjoyed a wide variety of mindful activities in their classes throughout the day.
Over the course of the day we also managed to raise just over £70 to donate to Young Minds
