    Countess Gytha School Catchment Area

Our lovely school is based on the edge of the beautiful Somerset village of Queen Camel, but our community is formed from all of the surrounding villages and hamlets within our catchment area; however when numbers allow, we are delighted to accommodate other families wishing to enjoy a Countess Gytha education.

    Queen Camel

Many of our children live in the village of Queen Camel, and we are situated on the outskirts of Queen Camel in a new, purpose-built school and pre-school accommodation with parking.

Queen Camel is on the River Cam, and is 7 miles north of the busy South Somerset town of Yeovil.

The School enjoys excellent relationships with the surrounding villages, and a highlight of the children’s week is their Community Assembly on a Wednesday. We plan community events throughout the year, such as church events, village cafes, as well as seasonal fairs and fundraising initiatives.

All parents and members of the school community are welcome to be involved in school life if they want to, even if they only have a small amount of time available.

Please look out for requests for help in our newsletter or contact the PTFA.
