4/12/25 - Geography

We have been learning about maps in Geography, exploring the different types of maps and key physical and human features. After drafting a design for our own map, we began creating a 3D version in today's lesson. We can't wait to see the finished maps!

3/12/25 - Christingle

Yesterday, visitors from the church came to help us make our Christingles, which we today took down to St Barnabas for our annual service. Well done to the children from King Arthur Class who read their Christmas acrostic poems!

28/11/25 - Colourful Classes

The children looked great in their pink and black outfits today, which they wore alongside bringing in donations for the PTFA Christmas Fair, which will be held in the school hall on Friday 5th December.

26/11/25 - Cinema Trip

Children from Pendragon, King Arthur and Excalibur took an exciting trip to the cinema recently; Year 1 and 2 watched 'The Smurfs' and Years 3 and 4 watched 'Flow'.

14/11/25 - Children in Need

King Arthur Class arrived spotty, dotty and yellow today for BBC Children in Need. Thank you to all who donated!

4/11/25 - Class Trip

To conclude our learning about the Prehistoric Past, King Arthur Class visited Cheddar Gorge to experience what life would have been like living in the Stone Age. The children explored Gough's Cave, the site where Cheddar Man's remains were discovered, as well as visited the Museum of Prehistory to see some of the Stone Age artefacts found in the caves. We then concluded our visit with a trip to the interactive cinema in Cox's Cave, to learn about how the caves were formed and the power of water. 

24/10/25 - Science

As part of our rocks and fossils topic, the children have been exploring how fossils are formed. To help with our understanding, we had a go at making our own fossils using clay to make a mould and plaster of paris as a substitute for sedimentary rock. We are very pleased with the results!

14/10/25 - Ansford Sports Festival

The Year 2 children visited Ansford Academy this afternoon to participate in a variety of sports workshops led by the Ansford sports students. They had a great afternoon and Year 3 are very much looking forward to their visit in the Spring!

10/10/25 - Hello Yellow

The children came to school today wearing yellow for World Mental Health Day, to show young people they're not alone with their mental health.Thank you to everyone who also made a donation!

1/10/25 - Harvest Festival 

We ventured down to the village church this morning for our annual Harvest Festival. The children particularly enjoyed singing some of their favourite harvest songs! Well done also to Anna, Mason, Isabella and Jett who read their poems entitled, 'Five Things I love About Autumn'. 

27/9/25 - Languages Day

The children came to school in the colours of the Spanish Flag today for European Languages Day. We enjoyed completing lots of activities linked to our class country, including practising saying some Spanish phrases and tasting some traditional Spanish foods.

19/9/25 - Art 

As part of our 'Prehistoric Past' topic, we have been exploring some of the world's earliest artists. This week, we had a go at replicating 'The Lion Man', which was a sculpture made from ivory, discovered in a German cave, believed to be 40,000 years old! King Arthur Class used clay to represent the sculpture, and were very pleased with their finished product!

15/09/25 - Luke Temple Author Visit 

Today we were fortunate to be visited by Luke Temple, for a captivating workshop based around his books. The children greatly enjoyed joining in with the story Luke read to them and loved getting to think of their own silly character names and settings!
