Countess Gytha Primary School is a thriving village school with a wonderful modern building situated in the beautiful village of Queen Camel.

Our ethos at Countess Gytha is to provide the best education for all our children, and instill a love of learning which we hope will last throughout their lives. We do this by setting the highest standards for teaching and learning, and ensuring that every child is cared for and valued.

Our aim is for all our children to leave us as happy, confident and independent individuals with a positive outlook on life and the resilience to take on their next challenge.

We trust this website will give you a taste of our school, as well as providing up to date information for Parents/Carers, Pupils and our wider Community.

About Us

We are very proud of our primary school in Queen Camel which has served the local community and neighbouring villages since 1872. We cater for pupils from the age of four to eleven years.

The staff and governors of the school aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which is appropriate and relevant to the children. We provide a caring, happy and positive atmosphere in which children can fulfil their potential and grow in self confidence and respect for the people and environment around them.
