Environmental Club

Today we have completed some essential allotment maintenance. We saw that our strawberries are growing and also our beans! We also had a tyre race!

We have been carrying on with our tyre planter painting! They are very colourful!

Today we cleaned and started to paint our tyres. We are going to turn these into some jazzy herb planters!

Today we made sure the allotment area was looking good and that the plants were watered!

We have had great fun today in Environmental Club! We planted 4 fruit trees as a group and made sure they were planted straight! We planted a plum tree, pear tree, apple tree and a cherry tree. We will be making sure they are growing well and fingers crossed for some lovely fruit in the future. Thanks you Mrs Crang for helping us with our planting.

Today in Environmental Club we planted our peas! The children all planted their line of peas and we are hoping they grow well and we get a good crop.

Today in Environment Club the children were so excited to find out that along with our outdoor learning across the school, we have achieved the RHS Level One Gardening Award! We can now concentrate on developing our ideas and skills to gain level two. We carried out some allotment maintenance today, ready for some new planting over the spring, and found lots of worms!

Today in Environment Club the children were really excited to see the start of our new message board. We thought about the colours we would like to paint the board and how we will make the leaves to hang on it to display our messages.

Today in Environmental Club the children wrote up and submitted their evidence to hopefully gain our Level One RHS Award. Hopefully we will hear back soon if we have been successful. Fingers Crossed! We also went to check on our new bird feeders and found that they had certainly been used and did some maintenance in the allotment. We also found lots of garden creatures including lots of woodlice and worms which the children were fascinated by!

We have had loads of fun today in Environment Club. We have carried on our theme of looking after the birds during this cold weather. We made bird feed pizzas and put them up for the birds to enjoy.

We have had great fun today in Environmental Club. We have been thinking about how the cold weather can mean animals may struggle to find food. We decided to make bird feeders by recycling plastic bottles. The children worked together to make and fill up their bird feeders. They then found the best places to hang their feeders. The children are interested to see what birds might come and use their feeders.
